Sony’s Future Filmmaker Awards 2024
Sony's Future Filmmaker Awards are back this year! The Future Filmmaker Awards brings a fresh perspective to storytelling. The shortlisted filmmakers are flown to Los Angeles for an exclusive four-day event to gain unparalleled insight into all aspects of filmmaking to elevate their careers. After a black-tie awards ceremony at the Cary Grant Theatre, the 30 unique filmmakers attend a four-day workshop program where they meet other artists and independent filmmakers worldwide.

Godox C7R & C10R Creative Bulb Lights
Godox just announced its new C7R and C10R Creative Bulbs featuring consistent, falter-free brightness, cinema-grade RGB, and fully tunable colors for any lighting atmosphere. The names refer to the bulb’s wattage: a constant 7W and 10W. While both bulbs receive power from either a standard E26/E27 socket, or they can be run externally via a USB-C input. Additionally, the C7R also comes with an internal battery. Both lights feature a CCT range from 2000K to 10000K.
The lights come with controls so users can swap between CCT and RGB modes and adjust the brightness. Additionally, you can also use Godox Light App, where you can toggle different color modes and choose among 14 different lighting effects.
Godox C7R retails for $64.90 and C10R for $54.90.
MEIKE introduces 12mm T2.5 S35 Cine Prime
MEIKE has announced its new 12mm T2.5 S35 Cine Prime lens that is available in either PL or EF mount. It is expected to start shipping from the 15th of July.

Atomos Edit gets public beta
The eagerly anticipated web-based Atomos Edit has moved into its public beta phase. Atomos Edit represents a potentially interesting step in rapid turnaround projects and in providing the soft of collaborative capabilities that only a cloud-based workflow can provide. The company promises over two million royalty-free stock elements that can be dragged and dropped onto a timeline to save time and production costs. Atomos will market three subscription plans ranging from free to $5/€5 to $50/€50 per month when the product launches fully, hopefully later this year.
Chaos Vantage 2
Chaos Vantage 2 is out now, and promises to give CG artists the ability to explore massive, production-quality 3D scenes (complete with full ray-tracing) and make changes in real time.
Vantage 2.0 features over 20 new features, including:
• Scene States – Explore and save different camera angles, each with their own distinctive mood and style
• New Animation Capabilities – A host of new options include deforming meshes for more natural body movement, support for AXYZ’s library of 4D characters and more
• Chaos Scatter – Add millions of small objects to a scene, instantly adding a layer of realism with just a few clicks
Vantage 2 is available now for Windows 10 (version 2004 or newer) and is designed for DXR-compatible NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. Current V-Ray users that already have a Premium or Enterprise subscription will have full access to Vantage 2 until the end of their current subscription.
